FAQs

What IR wavelength is it?
940 nm. It barely glows to the naked eye, so it's harder to spot than the more common 850 nm IR. The tradeoff is that it can look dimmer through some night vision devices, so test it with your own setup before you rely on it.
How do I know the IR is on?
Give the button a short press. It vibrates once if it's in IR steady and twice if it's in IR flashing, so you can confirm without looking or making visible light.
How do I change modes?
Press and hold the button for 1 second to turn it on, then keep holding. After 5 seconds it starts cycling: IR, red, green, and blue, each steady then flashing, then the red and blue police flash. Let go when you reach the one you want. It remembers that mode for next time.
Can I use it on a night jump?
Yes. Mount it on your helmet so other jumpers can see you under canopy in red or green, or use IR when the load is jumping with NVGs. Running two, one front and one rear, lets others tell which way you're heading. It's a marker light, so follow your dropzone's and USPA's lighting requirements for night jumps.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 75 hours flashing in red or green, and 50 hours in IR flashing. Steady modes run 4 to 9 hours depending on the color. A full charge over USB-C takes about 1 hour 45 minutes.
How is it different from the NU07 LE?
The NU06 MI adds IR with vibration feedback and is about half the weight. The NU07 LE skips IR but adds white and yellow, and it's brighter at 15 lumens. Pick the NU06 MI if you run night vision, and the NU07 LE for visible marking only.
